On Tuesday I was on my way to work as usual. I was just going down the hill into the town of Loon Lake and went to downshift into 3rd. Well the car didn't go into gear. Then it wouldn't go into any gear. I pulled over and it was just stuck. The car obviously wasn't going to be taking me the rest of the way to work so I called in to say that I would be walking in and sorry I was late. Well, Diane said she would send one of the boys out to check on me and give me a ride back. Robert came out within a minute and gave me a ride back to the store. Then within a few minutes the boys had gone out and towed it into the lumber yard. I could see it on the camera up front. We talked about what we were going to do with it and I said I had CAA and I could get it towed to a shop as soon as I got a chance to call. Well a very short time later I couldn't see it on the camera in the yard anymore. I just assumed that someone had moved it out of the way. Then John comes out and tells me what the car is going to cost to fix. I was so confused about how they would know that already. Turns out that the boys at my work had already towed it out of town to the mechanic for me and he had already looked at it. I swear all this happened in under an hour and a half.
I had to go and feed the dogs at lunch and I wasn't sure how I was going to get there. Rick said I could take his truck and keep it for a while! Diane gave me a ride out to their house to get the truck and I have been driving it ever since. I am not sure what will happen with the car, but I am hoping to buy it off of Dave.
Besides the fact that the car broke down, everything worked out perfect! It broke down in the right spot at the right time. That's me, forever the optimist.
